Like the old sayings
June 08, 2008 / Author: admin / Category: Home livingI don’t know what people think, but I tend to find cliches a bit simplistic and maybe a tad annoying. On the other hand, like the old sayings wouldn’t last from generation to generation if there weren’t a lot of truth to be found in them. Actually my grandma knew a thing or two that could help us.
A stitch in time saves nine. Can’t argue with that one. I personally don’t do much stitching, but it is easy to get the picture that if you seam is coming undone, the earlier you sew it back up, the less it will continue to nravel.
In the house, the sooner you wipe up a spill on the floor, the less likely someone will walk through it and track it all over the house. The quicker you clear the counter of clutter, the less likely clutter will continue to collect. If you wipe a greasy stove while it is still warm, you will do less work than waiting until it cools and hardens into gunk.
